Frequently Asked Questions

How do you operate a top-hung Roof blind?

Ensure your window is fully closed, then:

  • Open the handle up, but don’t push the window out

  • Pull the vent bar down fully, until the sash is fully rotated at 180°

  • Secure the position by sliding the barrel bolts into the holes at either side of the bottom of the frame.

How do I remove a Roof blind?

Roll up your Roof blind and unscrew the screws in the sliders attached to each side of the window frame, using a screwdriver. You can then pull away the frames from the sides of the blind sliders and finally remove the sliders and unscrew the brackets from the base of the frame.

Can I install a Roof blind myself?

Yes. Roof blinds are designed to fit specific roof windows and can be installed in a matter of minutes. Most windows come with pre-fitted brackets to assist with the installation. However, if your window does not have these brackets, and you are ordering a new blind, the brackets will be included with the blind. Our fitting experts can, of course, do this for you.

How do you clean Roof blinds?

There are a few options:

  • Dusting: regular dusting will maintain a like-new appearance of most blinds & shading

  • Vacuuming: vacuum gently with a brush attachment of any vacuum cleaner to take away anything on the surface of the blind

  • Spot-Cleaning: spot-clean blinds with a soft cloth or sponge moistened with lukewarm water.
